Located in Livingston Parish, Tickfaw State Park is set in southeastern Louisiana’s Plantation Country – just northwest of New Orleans near Hammond. Set on 1,200 acres, the park is operated by the Louisiana Office of State Parks, and was established in 1999.
Tickfaw State Park features bird watching and wildlife viewing, plus a nature center and picnic areas. Visitors may canoe on the Tickfaw River, try boardwalk walking paths through the swamp, and biking along designated paths.
