Located in the central region of the state, Louisiana State University at Alexandria is part of the larger Louisiana State Univeristy System, featuring four universities in total. LSUA was founded in 1961 as a two-year college, but has since grown to offer numerous undergraduate and bachelor degree programs.
The university features a prideful athletics program as well. The LSU-Alexandria Generals compete with seven varsity squads, donning royal blue and gold. Campus attractions include James C. Bolton Library, LSUA’s Multipurpose Academic Center, and the many towering oak trees throughout the campus.
